I'm giving serious thought to painting our guest bedroom walls a dark navy blue. It would look so sharp. Here are a few examples of what I'm talking about. For such a dark color, use of neutrals and whites will be key, along with adequate primer. Any other tips I should know for painting a room a dark color?

right on about the primer - and use a high quality paint, it will make painting it so much easier. gorgeous images btw. :)

do it! just make sure you get the right blue... i painted a wall in my bedroom blue and it turned out cookie-monster-esq. not exactly what i was going for.

I painted the kitchen of my ex-apartment (read: bachelorette pad) a deep eggplant. It was spectacular-- I bet navy will be gorgeous! I would recommend buying those little sample pots of a few different shades. Paint a swatch of each on a couple of walls. Seeing each color in the room at different times of day can go a long way towards picking the right color for your space. Post some after shots!

Did you end up painting your room navy? I'm trying to find a good navy by Behr to use for our guest bedroom!
